Edmund Forest Reserve As one treks along, one can see numerous plants such as bromeliads, orchids, mushrooms, lianes and others can be seen attached to their host, sitting on large buttress roots or branches, on the spondy forest or even cascading the sides of the trail.

The Maria Islands were declared a Nature Reserve in 1982 by the Government of Saint Lucia in recognition of their special function as a wildlife habitat and their unique flora and fauna. There are over eighty (80) plant species found on Maria Islands.

Marigot Bay is located on the western coast of the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia, 3.75 miles southwest from Castries and a short distance from the Saint Lucian National Marine Reserve. It is surrounded on three sides by steep, forested hills.
